Special Issue:
Designing, Developing, and Sustaining Doctoral Programs
in a Post Pandemic Age
Proposal Submission Deadline: April 1, 2023
Expected Publication: October 2023
CPED’s academic journal Impacting Education is currently seeking proposals for research articles and essays for an upcoming special themed issue focused on the design, development, and sustainability of doctoral programs that follow the CPED Framework for program (re)design.
This themed issue is designed to promote dialogue around the journey of CPED doctoral programs as they have traversed the uncertain terrain of education both during and post pandemic. We invite researchers, EdD faculty, and EdD students to share their current thinking, work, and experiences about how we might (re)imagine, (re)design, and develop practitioner based doctoral programs, as well as foster conversations around the new era of doctoral programs by curating a collection of empirical, theoretical, and practice-based articles that address the following or related questions:
- How did EdD programs adapt and evolve both during and after the pandemic? What adaptations implemented during this time have become the norm?
- In what ways have recent global events impacted doctoral programs?
- How might scholars re-imagine the DIP in this post pandemic age?
- How did EdD programs adapt and survive during times of uncertainty and fear?
- In what ways did delivery mandates, campus shutdowns, and instructional pauses offer opportunities for reflection, action, and change?
- How might EdD programs grow and enhance their programs during times of instability?
- What became the pivot point for doctoral programs-either in design and development or revision-during the pandemic?
Interested authors should submit a 500 word manuscript proposal by April 1, 2023 to the guest editor, Dr. Rebecca G. Harper ([email protected]). Please note that only research articles and essays will be accepted for this special issue. Specific requirements for each type of manuscript are detailed in the journal’s editorial policies.. Authors will be notified of the editors’ decision by April 2023, and full manuscripts will be due for peer review in May 2023.
Please contact guest editor, Dr. Rebecca G. Harper ([email protected]), editors-in-chief Dr. Suha Tamim ([email protected]) or Dr. Rhonda Jeffries ([email protected]) with questions.
